What was the problem? Well, where do I start. From the beginning the station was ill conceived, haphazardly planned by people with very little idea of the radio industry, thinking they'd scored a money making machine. There was insufficient branding and marketing, next to no true formatting or programme direction. It was slipshod and of poor quality, naturally it failed to make an impact. The management was changed, however, things didn't improve enough. To be fair, the 2nd generation of management had a better idea of programming and sound elements, but right from the start the sales team failed to sell. The sales team failed the radio station. They didn't sell. They couldn't sell. failure was blamed on various issues, poor economy being one of them. Truth be known,....the sales team failed. They didn't do their job. In 10 years, they never once made their sales target. Not ONCE!! They held no responsibility, and hoped all along that the parent company would bail them out each month as they did. After 10 years of bailing out the station, they parent company said "Enough!" and 29 million dollars in the red, have closed their doors. Everybody is out of a job, but don't worry, those poor sales guys will be flowing back to the parent company from where they first came, no loss in pay, no loss of sleep. No regrets. The sales team are responsible for the failure, but do they feel sorry? No,... The bastards.

GOODBYE RADIO-I
I haven't updated my English site for a while now, one of the reasons being I have been extremely busy since the announcement of the stations closure. That's right, after 10 years on the air, RADIO-i's owners have decided they don't want to run a radio station anymore, and June 15 announced the closing of the station, effective September 30.
