Monday nights from 11pm on NHK 3 is a brilliant programme, Time Scoop Hunter! The series is made in a documentary fashion. A reporter time slips back to various times in Japanese history, and reports on the happenings, as well as interacts with the "locals". Old words, customs and incidents are explained by way of the characters talking as though nothing is scripted, and when forgotten words or plots are talked about, a small window, like on a computer pops open with a brief explanation. It's done so well!The acting, the stories, sets, the overall idea of the programme and it's production quality would have to be one of the best I've seen in my 18 years in Japan.
