9 minutes left,...all DJ's entered the studio for the final countdown...
5 minutes to go, and with past and present DJ's on hand, the final song began... ABBA's Thank You For The Music....
And with that, the microphones were closed,...we were no longer DJ's at 79.5FM RADIO-i...At 30 seconds to midnight, the song faded, and station manager Ito San's voice came on. The studio was quiet, and as Ito San's pre recorded voice announced the end of broadcast, there were quiet sobs from many of the DJ's and staff. The sobbing grew as the voice ended. There was a minutes silence, and then at a minute past midnight, RADIO-i had died. Static filled the 79.5FM airspace.
