Dec 8. John Lennon was killed 30 years ago today! I still remember the moment I heard about it on the radio, and watching the outpouring of grief from around the world on TV. I knew about the Beatles then, and was a fan, but in 1989-90 when Adelaide's 102FM did a Beatles special event, I was hooked! From that time I grew my sideburns like John Lennon!
I painted this portrait of John Lennon some years back. Based on the famous photo of the musician, this was done as dot art using the blunt end of a toothpick dabbed in paint. Up close, it's dots, move back and the picture become clearer. RIP John,...30 years.
