On location in Kira-Cho, Aichi Prefecture for my TV Aichi show. This shoot took a look at the horses used by the Samurai. They weren't the fast thoroughbreds we see in film and on TV, but these short, sturdy, stocky, hairy beasties called Kiso Horses. There are only about 15o remaining in Japan nowdays. Most are kept in Nagano Prefecture, however there are still quite a few in Aichi.

SAMURAI HORSES
