Weekend Aug. 13-15...Having marched into the arena in Central Little Tokyo, L.A. , the team stand by for the Japan Week performance as part of the Sister City celebrations.
We performed the Samurai Pre Battle Ceremony, the
Shitsujinshiki, where the lords retainers gather to prepare for battle. The vanguard Commander (me in this case) and rear Guard Commander pledge their loyalty and men to their master, a small ceremony believed to bring luck in battle is performed,.....
And finally the Lord reads his pledge. This is wrapped up with the
Kachidoki war cry....
